There are 38 regional passport offices in India. In order to apply for Indian passport you need to go to the passport office in the place where you are staying. You can get passport forms and also apply for new passport through Post Offices also.
Passport Office works on all weekdays from 9.30 am -5.00 pm. Saturday is holiday.
